Databases of the New York State Liquor Authority

LAMP – SLA  Version of Open Data with Mapping

This is the version of the SLA license database of the Open Data database. The LAMP version includes mapping of the licenses and includes latitude longitude information as well as the data in the  Open Data version.

https://lamp.sla.ny.gov/

When opening the Lamp  application, a map of New York is displayed. Clicking a button at the bottom of the map – center – reveals a database. One may export the database by selecting export to csv under options, upper left corner. Be sure that “Filter by map extent” is not blue – i.e. not selected.

Unfortunately, the application limits downloads to 16,000 records – something I only learned for Gemini AI. So one need to filter. I  filtered by county for NYC.

Lamp has two important columns not included in OpenData — Category and County. So, to make Open Data useful, one need a lookup table to add those columns to the Open Data CSV.

These are the fields (columns) exported.Premise Name DBA License ID Legacy Serial Number Description Category Address1 Address2 City State ZIP County Lic Type Lic Class Lic Expiration Date Lic Effective Date Lic Issue Date Lic Original Date Principals License Status Additional Bars Disciplinary History Latitude Longitude x y

State Liquor Authority Licenses Currently Operating Under SAPA

last update 2023
Economic Development If a renewal allocation is filed on time (at least 7 days before the expiration date) and is complete, the licensee will be allowed to “operate under SAPA” if the renewal application is not approved (or disapproved) before the expiration date. SAPA (the State Administrative Procedure Act) allows the licensee to continue to operate under the expired license until a decision is made on the renewal application.
